Ganojagaron Mancha joyous procession

DHAKA: Ganojagoron Mancha activists brought out a joyous procession demanding immediate execution of the verdict of BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury on Tiesday afternoon.

Coordinator of Ganojagaron Mancha Dr Imran H Sarker, also convener of bloggers and online network activists, told journalists: “After Ghulam Azam’s verdict this verdict was very import. Now we are happy.”

Earlier in the day, BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was sentenced to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 found BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury guilty of nine charges out a total of 23 allegations of war crimes, including genocide and killings.

Of the 23 charges, Salauddin was, however, acquitted of eight charges while the prosecutions failed to prove six other allegations.
